What is Blockchain?
Blockchain is a ledger of transactions recorded in code on a decentralised network of servers (sometimes referred to as distributed ledger technology). The blockchain is secured using cryptography. Individual transactions are grouped into a block and, once verified, the new block is linked to the previous block. This chain of blocks – the blockchain – makes it nearly impossible to alter past records without changing subsequent blocks. All network participants must reach consensus on the newest block before it is added to the chain.
Blockchain Basics
If you’re new to blockchain technology, watch the video below for an introduction to blockchain, stablecoins and AUDM.
AUDM and Blockchain
The AUDM token is a crypto-token designed to be used to make payments on a blockchain or decentralised ledger. It is purchased and redeemed from Macropod at the rate of one AUDM token to one Australian dollar. This type of crypto-token is often referred to as a stablecoin.
The AUDM token is issued as a digital asset on multiple blockchain networks. To learn more about the blockchain networks supported by AUDM, visit the Supported Blockchain Networks page.
